IICT is a self-regulated professional membership body. We are not affiliated with any government regulatory bodies or professional regulatory authorities. Qualifications are not reviewed against a government regulated qualification scheme framework and do not provide ‘national recognition.’

Please note, in Toronto, holistic practitioners are required by law to be registered with a government recognised regulatory body. You can learn more HERE.

Training Provider Membership is intended for individuals, businesses and schools who train people to become practitioners in a specific field or modality. The intention is that when students graduate from your course, they will be eligible for professional membership and practitioner insurance through IICT.

No. IICT does not approve continuing education courses and we do not require our members to complete Continuing Professional. Development/Education courses to maintain their membership and insurance. Therefore, it is not necessary for you to submit short courses, CPE courses, or personal development courses for review.

IICT Membership is recognised in 35+ countries worldwide; however, international modality recognition is subject to the approval of regional insurance partners, regulation of ‘protected titles’ (see below), and regional/state training requirements. It is your responsibility to be aware of any License(s), Registration(s), and regional/state training requirements in the countries/regions in which you are teaching courses.

Below is a list of all countries that IICT currently operates in:

UK and Europe: United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Gibraltar, Iceland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Greece, Latvia
Sweden, Channel Islands, Norway, Estonia, Austria, Malta, Isle of Man, Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Czechia, Cyprus, Lithuania, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Finland

South Africa (covered under the EU/UK insurer)

Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

United States

Canada

By law, there are specific titles which are referred to as ‘protected titles’. This means that only those people who are registered or endorsed in a particular profession can use the titles associated with that profession. This may require the practitioner to obtain Licensing and or Registrations required by a regulatory authority. Protected titles can include but are not limited to complementary therapy professions such as: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Naturopathy, Kinesiology, Homeopathy, Herbal Medicine, Massage, Art Therapy, Dietician, Psychotherapy, and Counselling.

Furthermore, it may be illegal for a practitioner to use a symbol, word or description which could be reasonably understood to indicate that an individual is a health practitioner or qualified to practice in a registered health profession. In Australia, this is referred to as ‘holding out.’

Protected titles vary by country, and in some cases by state. For example, each state in Canada and the United States have their own specific occupational regulations. HERE is a list of protected titles in Australia. If you have further questions, please contact AHPRA on 1300 419 495.

As a Training Provider, you warrant to IICT that as part of your approval you are aware of any Licenses and/or Registrations required by law in the regions where you are teaching your courses. You must obtain, maintain, and ensure that every person employed or engaged by you to facilitate the provision of services/modalities holds all valid License(s) and/or Registration(s) required by any regulatory authority within the region or territory in which you/they practice and completes as required by any regulations such course(s) of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as are required for the renewal and continued validity of such License(s) and Registration(s).

If your modality is not approved with one of IICT’s insurance partners, you can still teach your course in that country/region. Your students will just need to find their own insurance in that country, or you can recommend a provider for them.

If your modality is not approved in your preferred region, you can request a full refund within 14 days.

IICT only approves the modality. Therefore, if someone meets the minimum requirement to be a practitioner they will be approved for professional membership and insurance.

Any additional training that a student undertakes would be covered under this modality, as long as they are practicing within the scope of their training.

You are only permitted to use our Professional Seal for modalities approved by IICT. Should you wish to add additional modalities to your profile at any time, you must submit an application and receive approval.

For example, if in your original application you are approved to teach Reiki and Massage, but at a later point in time you want to begin teaching Kinesiology, this will require that you submit an Existing Modality application to IICT. Upon receipt of your application, we will review your course to ensure it meets our minimum training requirements.

If you want to teach a modality that is not currently recognised by IICT, you will need to submit a New Modality application. We will then send this application to our insurance partners, and they will assess if they will cover the modality or not.

Please note that international modality recognition is subject to the approval of regional insurance partners. Depending on your Training Provider status, a new modality application may be included in your membership. If not, there is a small administrative fee of $79.00 + GST for each new modality application that you submit.

You can view a list of our approved modalities here.

Training Provider memberships are renewed on an annual basis and will be automatically charged to the credit card on file.

Should you wish to cancel at any time, please send correspondence via email with your intention to atpsupport@myiict.com. Your subscription will still be valid for the remainder of that term. Upon receipt of your request, you will receive a written confirmation. If for any reason you do not receive a written confirmation, please follow up via email or phone.

Should you wish to change your method of payment please contact IICT on +61 02 5629 7777 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 10am – 4pm AEST or send a request via email to atpsupport@myiict.com.

You are not required to have a separate IICT Practitioner Membership; however, you are required to have public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

If you would like to take advantage of the exclusive rates with our preferred insurance partners, including Lockton Affinity, you will need to sign-up for a practitioner membership with IICT. A benefit of being a Training Provider is you are eligible to receive 50% OFF your annual practitioner membership. A special discount code will be provided to you upon acceptance of your application.

Need Insurance?

IICT has partnered with Lockton Affinity to offer exclusive public liability and professional indemnity insurance rates for practitioners and teachers.

If you have a public liability and professional indemnity policy in place with Lockton Affinity, you are also eligible to purchase Business Insurance and other insurance products.

This option may not be suitable for larger training organisations and schools, as you must have an active IICT Practitioner Membership in place to purchase insurance through Lockton Affinity. To learn more, please contact our Training Provider services team at atpsupport@myiict.com.
